Was Anyone Else at MNSSHP on the 31st?

However, we attended a sold out party last year ( a little earlier in October) and it did not seem nearly as busy as last night. If it was sold out, shouldn't the number of guests be the same no matter what night?
We witnessed a number of people walking around with NO WRISTBANDS on well afer the party had begun.
We were in line for photos with Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and there was a large group from somewhere in South America that walked up and just pushed right in front of us. I had my back turned, however, several others in front of me started complaining to some CM's that these folks were cutting in front, and then noticed that they had no wristbands on. A CM came over and asked to see their arms and when she had confirmed that they didn't have them, explained that this was a ticketed event that was sold out and that they would need to leave...however, I don't think they did, as we did see a couple of them later on in a different area of the park.
We overheard a lot of people complaining that the event was really crowded..and they were folks who hav attended on Halloween in past years when it was always sold out.
Just wonderding if they've increased the numbers to make it a "Sold Out" event or if there were just too many "guests" that didn't leave the park when they were supposed to, and not enough CM's to get them out of there.
It was hectic, and we left early. Too many people running the little ones down.
As I said, we attended a party last year and it was also sold out, but it sure didn't seem nearly as crowded as last night.

We went last year on Oct. 31 and it was crowded at first but thinned out quickly after 10pm. Seemed almost empty by 11pm but of course by that time we were leaving too. This party is best for guests who can stay up late and sleep in the next day. That spooky parade is still one of our favorites esp the grave diggers.

Ilove the MNSSHP, but I probably won't attend again for the very reason of there being so many non-paying people there. They shouldnt start any party events for at least 1 hour after the party starts. This should give them a head start on clearing out nonpaying people. Last year, we couldnt even find a place to sit and watch the parade on mainstreet because there were so many people hanging around to watch the first parade. Several of us complained to CM's that if they would make all these non-banded people leave, us paying guests could have a decent shot at a decent spot. I know if we could see them, the CM's could too. But these people knew that the special parade was gonna start so they hung around. Now, i'm all for everyone having a great time, but if I have to pay for these "special" treats..then Ishouldn't have to be competing against those who DIDN'T for a seat...this is a very sore subject with me as you can tell...lol.

This is a pretty sore subject for me too. In Tokyo, Paris and a lesser extent, in California, they have Halloween events for all guests throughout the October. I really did feel that the upcharge parties have ruined the MK in so many ways. When we went in Dec 2007, we did no go to a MVMCP as we were worried how little ones would fare with the time change and did not feel buying tickets was a good choice. On the flip side, the fireworks were only on twice in the 12 days we were at WDW unless you went to the party. And one day we were in the park when they were clearing non party members out, we had to fight a stupid cast member to let out potty training son go to the bathroom in adventureland because we didn't have wrist bands on.

The best answer, stop these stupid parties, put on the special seasonal entertainment for everyone, and increase the pass and hotel rates if need be. That would be the very best for guests, and I think would be lest costly overall. Sadly the revenues would not be as high.

Ten to one those jerks were from Brazil.

The first year we did the party they made everyone who had paid for the party get wrist bands and we had to all go to tomorrowland for about 30 or so minutes while they cleared everyone out of the park. Then they released us and we had a great time. That system seemed to work pretty well and only people who had paid were in the park

I remember those days too and I wish they would go back to them. I didn't mind staying over there for 30 min...it sure beats the frustration I feel when I go now for sure. I wish I could email them my opinion...there would probably be a lot of people email them on this issue if there were.

I always wondered why those Brazilians were so rude. Now I understnand it's cultural. Thanks for clearing that up Dave.

A birdie told me that the attendance for MNSSHP were way down this year ... and that discounts were added for CMs on dates not intended too in an effort to pump up the gate.

With that in mind, one might surmise that Disney wasn't as vigilant about people hanging in the park.

It has always pissed me off that Disney no longer does 6 p.m. hard closes on event nights and reopens at 7 or 7:30. What they do now is really bad show all around but much easier from a labor standpoint and a party crasher standpoint as well.

It's the same way with extra magic hours at night. the park stays really crowded for 2 hours after original close. By then we are ready to leave to get ready for the next day so we don't even schedule evening extra magic unless we don't have an early open the next day.

I went to my first ticketed event on October 20th at the MK for the Halloween Party. I thought it was great fun but was just shaking my head that this should be able to be seen by everyone who has a park ticket.

DCA does do the hard close about an hour and a half before the ticketed event. The only people in DCA for the Halloween events were those that bought the tickets.

I know how to say something in Portugese that translated to English would rhyme with puck clearasil.

And I've used it as a response to about 100 of them in line at RnRC yelling something that sounded like a song or chant at the top of their lungs.
