A January 25th Washington Post column explores the notion that the Disney Company is the wrong choice for a film like I Am Sam that deals with the sensitive issue of living with reduced mental capacity.

I find it rather amazing that a publication of the stature of the Washington Post would run this kind of editorial without doing the kind of basic factchecking that should have caught the inaccuracy of the the central fact that formed the basis for the writer's premise.

The correction indicated that their original review of the article had listed the incorrect studio, but that hardly excuses this error. At the very least, couldn't they have taken a glance at the ads for the movie that probably ran in that very paper?

Oh well, maybe soon we can read in the Washington Post about Disney's big summer release: "Star Wars-Episode 2"
