Okay, enough sarcasm. This is a multi-billion dollar corporation and apparently they are too cheap to create a commercial just for WDW. How lazy is the marketing department? Oh yeah I forgot we are having the same lame ass celebration for a second year in a row. What a joke.

They figure that the vast masses of the unwashed will not notice. Most will not care when they see it. Only Disney geeks will notice, which is good because it gives us something to talk about at LP.

Save a buck, and keep calling a promotion a Celebration. Again that goes back to the Millions of heathen who do not attend Disney Parks on a regular bases.

As a video guy, I can tell you exactly how this kind of thing happens. A producer brings in a stack of videotapes to a studio, where he and an editor put together the commercials. The producer might have only been to the parks once or twice, while the editor probably has never been. So they build a spectacular commercial, and then they show it to busy executives who barely look at the screen before they give their approval. Not a single person in this entire chain has a fraction of the park knowledge that the average LP contributor has, so the spot goes on the air with massive inaccuracies.

So I never really blame the people that made the spot - I blame the people that approved it without knowing their product very well in the first place.

The MK Entrance Loop (at least the version I have) has the Phantom Manor theme rather than a Mansion one. Presumably, the loop was done by WDI, and presumably they do know which park has which attraction.

Personally, I'm cool with that, because I prefer Manor's musical score to Mansion's.

I am not cool with it because it misrepresents the actual experience (or lack of) at the MK park. And for them to pass off the MK as something more special and upgraded (as the DLP park for example) is downright "false advertisement."

But it is the same old commercial... one would think they would have a new one with the slight changes this year, even travel channel is updating their show...

Maybe because what they do have is a lot of old footage from circa 1985, and probably would prefer not to use it anymore..? but of course, that would not stop them from using that old footage either on current promo videos.

Unfortunately I believe TDLFAN hit the nail on the head. They want the best looking footage to HOOK the consumer even if that means "false advertising".

The castle here looks better, the HM there is spookier, this thrill ride looks more exciting, etc. I don't mean to make it sound sinister but I just don't believe no one knows the difference.
