As expected, Disney has signed a six-year deal with the Children's Miracle Network for a new sponsorship for the PGA Tour stop at Walt Disney World. The tournament, most recently called the Funai Classic at Walt Disney World through last year, will now be known as the Children’s Miracle Network Classic presented by Wal-Mart. The agreement, which extends through 2012, begins with this year's tournament. The tournament runs from October 29 – November 4, with the first three days being practice rounds and the tournament running November 1–4."

No offense LaBuda, but I would have expected Michael Dell to have held out longer than Disney. What is the world coming to?

P.S. In view of Wal-Mart trying to go upscale, in the future I will refer to it as Wal-Marché.

    :)

No I think that was short lived -- they just fired the VP that was hired to upgrade their clothes line ( after less than a year) due to terrible results and sales -- I think the upgrade may be off

It has nothing to do with the PGA Tour. The tourney sponsor is Children's Miracle Network. CMN chose Wal-Mart as a primary sponsor because the company has raised an enormous amount of money for CMN.

As to WalMart doing good, I'll just say that sometimes bad companies and bad people do good things ... this would be an example. But it doesn't change my opinion of the company one iota.
