Well, we were staying over by Universal, so of course, we drove. It wasn't until this trip that I realized how much the Disney resorts spoiled me, lol. I liked the buses and the extra hours and things. I didn't like parking, walking to my car, taking the tram, I mean c'mon! LOL! I might sound like a dork, but I still think that the Disney resorts just spoiled me. Anyone else have this feeling?

And I gladly pay for this over the generic hotel rooms found elsewhere in the Orlando area.

There definitely is a difference, and it's hard to explain, maybe because a lot of the difference is just my own perception. but there's great value in getting on property and never leaving, of being totally immersed in the WDW experience for days at a time. I'll still stay off property from time to time if I'm really trying to save a buck. But now that I've gotten over my value resort bias with a recent stay at the Pop Century, I think these off property stays will be few.

You probably get the same service staying at a Disney moderate as you do at the Ritz Carlton. There is nothing more Magical then staying "on property" at WDW. Even staying at the Grand Californian Hotel or the Disneyland Hotel or the Disney Ambassador Hotel or the MiraCosta is not the same as staying at any WDW resort. That is why WDW has more guest and more repeat guest because there is nothing better than leaving the real world and staying in the heart of the Magic. IMO.

Trust me, service at the moderate was NOT at the same level in execution and personal attention as that of the Ritz, and will never be.
