    Weather Underground can give you a history so you have accurate data(my DS got married at the DLH last December, and I was checking it out). My impression is that mid-October should be okay (DS's birthday is then and we always had good weather for his party - I live in the South Bay but the rainy season for the whole area pretty much starts at the same time) but by the end of October the rainy season is often beginning. Always dress in layers for SF - I used to work there and the mornings and evenings can get quite cold even if the days are warm. It seldom gets hot though it can.
