Well, he's black enough anyway. Let's give him HUD.

    Seen on a right-wing site:
"He’s a Trump loyalist who checks the “black” box as a member of the cabinet."

Aaaannnnnd there you have their outlook in a nutshell. Surely that's exactly what Trump himself was thinking.

Never mind the man already admitted that he wasn't qualified to head up any government agency, I suppose it doesn't take a brain surgeon. Right?

Yep. The man has no experience with housing policy. Zero. He said himself he didn't feel qualified to head up a government agency back when he was being floated for HHS, where arguably he at least has some relevant experience.

But. He's a Trump loyalist. And Trump knows that even Republicans gotta appoint one black cabinet secretary. (Anyone think there will be a second?) So there you are. Carson's "qualifications" explained.

It also shows just how little Trump cares for urban housing that isn't of the luxury variety. Combine this with the fact that son-in-law Jared Kushner is essentially a slumlord...

... and that Trump himself has a notorious record with low-income and minority tenants back when his father's business included that, and any changes in housing policy under Trump will almost certainly favor property owners over tenants, probably under the guise of "rolling back regulations" or "market solutions."
