Is a doctor's note on letterhead sufficient?

I am currently taking medication that makes me burn very easily and exposure needs to be minimal, even with sunscreen.

Anyone know? My doctor has already written a letter asking for DL to accomodate my medical restrictions at this time, I just don't know if it is enough?

Thanks in advance for your help!

I was told that they do not have Handicap passes anymore, but to let the CM at the queue know the situation if necessary and I can wait by the exit/unloading point. When traveling with my dad in his wheelchair, we learned that on some rides, like Pirates and Splash Mountain, you often wait longer than you do in the regular lines, but far less people.
Just a suggestion, one mollysmom may have already said, but have you considered taking a light colored umbrella for when you are walking around the park or to and from Hojo's? It will help keep the sun off and then I can look like an idiot and ask everyone with an umbrella if they are mickeynewe from Laughing place next week ;)

Only one of my (autstic) sons travels to DL with us now, (his brother is just too BAD!!! lol It might sound awful, but we look foraward to our little "break" from him every year, even though we feel guilty the whole time, we know it's a LOT easier and everyone enjoys themselves more, including him!:) I always think that so many people try to abuse the system and that the CMs might think I am making something up for my convenience. Mark is more high functioning that his brother and looks normal, but the CMs seem to catch on quick that we need a GAP! lol They only have to talk to him for a few seconds, if he's even there that long, they usually tell me "Um...I think he left already" as I run out to search for him frantically!
We use the pass as a fastpass for the rides that accept FPs and about the only ride we use the Handicapped entrance is PPF. (The line there is always an hour and he LOVES that ride, but it's quite embarrassing to stand in the reg. que with him crying...he's 6'5") He loves Casey, Jr, too, but the que is right out in the open and I feel so guilty w/all of the little ones waiting. dsnykid is right, the H lines for Splash and Pirates is usually longer. (I think SpaceMtn. might be, too. DH waited w/him there once while DS and I went through the reg. line and they got on about 5 min. before us.)
I think you could probably get the same card we do, with an explanation. They give you one good for the entire stay.

In the meantime, my doctor warned me regardless to repeatedly apply heavy sunscreen, or wear a long sleeve shirt (something I don't want to have to do the entire time as it will be hot and I only have one sun shirt) and a hat.

I may resort to that umbrella! If I do, just look for the family of 3 with silly, happy faces, dsnykid!

I am very excited because it's Rob's second trip(my 24th) and he knows more about the park and I don't have to play tour guide. Plus we have tickets for the supposed final night of balcony seating for Fantasmic on Tuesday. But I'm bad and still haven't pack... our flight to San Francisco leaves Saturday morning :)

We signed up for the hospital tour, I think it was called. You have to kind of run up to the guy with the sign up sheet b/c only about 20 people are allowed. It was so interesting! We sat in the Birdman's "cell" and heard lots of great stories. (Nice and spooky at night!) Maybe Mickeynewe and I will see you at Hojos!

If you are facing the peir and you walk down to the left (towards Giradelli square) you will see another pier with large ships docked - one is old ferry and another should be a sailboat - anyway that is a national park, I believe it was where Hyde street ended on the end of the pier. WE toured them ($5 for all the boats) last summer. Very fun and interesting to see - some of them are completely restored others are partially. The ferries had stuff like old menu's and newspapers and even some old cars...

There is a "Special Assistance Pass" that can be obtained from City Hall. I have used this for my ankle because of torn ligaments. My brother, who is Autistic, also uses this pass because he cannot wait in the long lines. You don't need a doctors note to obtain this. They are pretty good about taking your word for it. Hope this helps.
