It's about a gal who was a total geek in high school and still feels that she is even though she is 28. She goes to a place called "The Glass Slipper" for a makeover before her 10 year high school reunion. It's pretty funny. Predictable, but funny.

Apparently it's based on a true story. People seem to either really enjoy it or not like it at all. So far, it has piqued my curiosity. Miss Candace, I listen to the lady PI books you mentioned on tape at the gym. Don't allow myself to listen to them unless I'm working out which motivates me to work out so I can find out "who done it". The county library has many of them on tape (also like Paretsky). I tried "serious" books for this - my first was The Corrections - an award winning book on Oprah's Book Club - and it was all I could do to drag myself to the gym. The book was depressing and I didn't care about any of the people, none of whom I liked. I am sure this was not the best way to "experience" this book, so I decided that something light and entertaining, with a plot that was easy to follow, was the way to go. I'm currently listening to an old Sharon McCone - Where Echoes Live.
