It's like painting the Golden Gate Bridge. These days I'm (usually) very strict with myself about finishing one book before starting another.

    Chedstro: The chain I work (Books, Inc.) for is headquartered in S.F., and all the folks up there are very excited about Christopher Moore. They had signings for him at a couple of our stores, and for the last couple of weeks "Dirty Job" has been our #1 hardback fiction title. Sadly, it doesn't seem to be doing as well here in SoCal.

So, now, of course, I've got to check it out! (-;

I agree w/your comments about some of the content in fiction and I actually feel myself blushing sometimes when I come across a book like that! lol I go to the library most of the time b/c I will read the outside flap of a book and think it sounds good only to find out that it's trash. Then, I'm so glad I didn't waste money on it!
    I just read a really cute "Young Readers" book called "Al Capone does My Shirts" by
    Gennifer Choldenko. It was on display at my library for Autism Awareness month. My librarian brought me over to show me the display b/c she knows I have 2 kids w/Autism and the title was so interesting I had to check it out! It was about a boy growing up on Alcatraz Island in 1935 and he had a sister with a problem that would be known as Autism today. (The author had an Autistic sister.) It was really good!

    By the way AlexBook, do know when Brown's next novel is due?

    The Godfather, I loved the movie greatly and always wanted to read the book.

    And Cell by Stephen King, started this earlier this year but got sidetracked.

    It's titled "The Solomon Key" and is expected to be released some time in 2007, but he's still writing it, so that's all subject to change.
