How many people does it take to create the gingerbread house (in the ball room) and how long does it take to get it all put together? Every time I go on the ride, I always have so much fun trying to find all of the new additions and changes…kind of like a where’s Waldo. So if anyone has any info, I would absolutely love to hear about what it takes to “make it all come alive”. Thanks!

How long does it take to decorate the Mansion? I have no idea, but I'd imagine it to take more than two weeks since I'd assume that while the ride's closed up they'd want to do some refurb action too. I can only assume that decorating it is a fun job that they look forward to most of the year, like bringing Christmas decorations down from the attic.

It's really amazing. Was this the first year the gingerbread house actually opened up? i remember the house being much smaller a few years back.

Real gingerbread cookies? I have a hard time believing this given the propensity of rodents and other vermin attracted to carefully stored foodstuffs at DL.

Don't forget, the wonderful candy smell on Main Street USA is simply an electric well with vanilla extract poured into it every morning. The same could easily be done with the right concoction mixed together and warmed up.

Here is a good descriptions "The foundation is wood and wired for animation, then the house goes to the Disneyland Resort Central Bakery for a 3-week layover to apply more than 500 lbs of gingerbread, ten yards of fondant and miles of frosting and over sized candies." So technically it is edible, although I doubt anyone would really want a piece..lol

Thanks, that clears up alot. There isn't a rodent on the planet that would get anywhere near fondant. :)
