This trip, only Jingle Jungle Parade shows up on the entertainment schedule. No parade at the Studios (I guess this one has been gone since 2008), no Christmas parade at the MK after the parties have finished. And no Holiday Wishes on non-party nights either. So then I was thinking about catching the different Holiday Storytellers at Epcot that we missed last time. But the info this year only lists Italy, France and American Adventure as having them. As much as people imply "visiting too often" is the root cause of Disney unhappiness. Not visiting for 4 years, and discovering the disappearance of 2 parades, fireworks, most of the Holiday Storytellers and the Lights of Winter is not a recipe for Disney happiness either.

Anyone who idisappointeded by the lackluster effort of WDW in celebrating Christmas should check out a quick trip to the Disneyland Resort. It's pretty much the place that WDW got most of their ideas for the Florida festivities, e.g. Snow on Main Street. Disneyland is full of activities for the Christmas holiday. Nightly holiday firework shows and parades, unbelievable decorations not only at the parks but the hotels and Downtown Disney, themed overlays on Small World as well as Haunted Mansion. No special event, no special admission, just show up and join A LOT of guests there to enjoy the holidays. Tons of street music, entertainers, spread throughout the resort. Don't rely on broken monorails that have limited operating hours... Head out to SoCal and walk from your hotel to holiday shopping, entertainment and cheer.

I did verify, through Google search that both of these did run during Christmas week in 2010. http://www.florida-project.com...0-01.jpg In 2005 & 2007, these would be listed on the Calender on the website, and a visiting guest could accurately plan their trip. So now, either I take Disney at their published word, and they aren't offered this year, which is a disappointment. And a change for 2011. Or what is published is wrong, which is also a disappointment. We're trying to balance CM blackout dates, with park schedules at Disney, Universal and Legoland, not to mention my Mom's work schedule, so having an accurate schedule of events is important. If I could have looked at a calendar and saw, the Christmas parade, Holiday fireworks are definitely operating on this day we would have made a dining reservation somewhere because we would have known we were going to be at WDW that day. Without it, no reservations were made, and by the time we know for sure, it will be way too late. I guess we'll know for sure when the Times Guides and Tell-A-Casts come out.
