more DCA stupidity---- California has no wild grizzly bears; back in 1850 it had a few but since 1900 good luck finding one.
The only live one that I have known about in California is at the San Diego Zoo and for all I know that one likely came from Montana or Canada.

That rock formation should have taken the shape of the smaller, less aggressive, ubiquitous California black bear(which comes in different shades and color patterns besides all black) who makes his home in the foothills and Sierra Nevada mountains.

Yes, I know the Grizzly is on the flag.
But DCA should have chosen the real Californian bear, the black bear. When Cali became a state in 1850 no problem because like I said wild Grizzlies were here ---- but DCA became a park in 2001, 100 years after the demise of Grizzly in the state.

Interestingly enough, the big golden disk in the entry is called (with great, great imaginative flair) the Sun Icon. But it never caught on as an official icon for the park, even among Disney's designers and publicists.

Thanksfully the Grizzly Peak, which is a very well designed Disney park structure, caught on as the icon of DCA.

And then people would complain they didn't use the Grizzley Bear. Could they really ever win?

I think Grizzley River Run sounds better then Black Bear River Run anyway...
