I get chills whenever I see it in person and I listen to the soundtrack at least once a week.

Brought back memories and it was a thrilling experience to just sit by the Partners statue with a thing of ice cream and watch fireworks being shot overhead. The Pirates, Haunted Mansion, and Main Street sequences are my faves.

The globe show is much more than just a series of images. It actually adds detail to the overall story of creation, what Illuminations is about. I was watching the show a ways back and got to discussing this with a guest family. I was able to narrate a little for them while they show was playing, with "This is where the earth is first formed -- And then animals appeared -- the emergence of man -- Exploration -- the emergence of nations -- etc." Appreciating these aspects of the creation story sequence makes the globe video portion much more interesting. You begin to look at the images carefully to see how they represent the story being told. The guest family told me they had seen Illuminations before, but that was the first time they appreciated the detail that was all in there.

Then along came Wishes. The story, music, and the castle's participation in the show make it absolutely one of a kind as well. It's right up there with Illuminations. (but the ROE flames still win) I understand the new 50th show at Disneyland is in the same high class as Wishes. I look forward to seeing this when I go to the NFFC convention this July.

We usually go around the front of the castle by the CP or Walt's statue, if we can get in that close. So not ever been "behind" the castle for wishes, the fireworks started and OMG! We kept turning our heads and bods back and forth as they were firing the works from 2 separate, distinct locations, which I never noticed before. It was INCREDIBLE! We all just started screaming, well actually just me as the rest of the fam just made believe they didn't know me as usual to preclude the embarrassment of being with such a crazed person

I have also been able tko share the story with people standing by me and they are always fasinated with the sory and how much they had missed by not knowing the full story. Fantasmic at Disneyland would be next. followed by Wishes and then Fantasmic at MGM.
