What types of snacks do you like to take in the car. I'm looking for things that are easy to get too, not messy, etc... All ideas welcome! TIA

Gees, reading that makes me think we should start liking healthier snacks!

We used to take lots and lots and chips and crud like that but I just couldn't take it anymore. I mean we still take some but I find fresh fruits much more satisfying. I put grapes and sliced fruits in little ziploc bags, take fruit roll ups, yogurt covererd raisins, stuff like that. I also take croissants, sandwich meats, breads, peanut butter bars, kudos, and such, small plastic bowls for serving, and napkins/roll of paper towels, dried fruit, chips, crackers, pretzels, gogurt granola bars, pop tarts.

    Have fun!

chickendumpling, Thanks for the great picture! :) I was so happy to see that there when I braved the climb up the tree house that I screamed, "MY NAME!", followed by the most obnoxious, cartoonish, hyena laugh, heeeeeeheeeeeeeehehheheeeeeheeheheeeee! I needed a good slap to bring me back to earth. It is cool though. :)

BTW Kala is part of my real hawaiian name and when it is said fast it means, money$$ Still waiting to win that lottery.

You must live in the sticks? We have been stuck on highways because of accidents for 4+ hours. I am afraid that cannabalism would've set in if we had not been prepared with munchies and water ahead of time.

Little confused by your post though, you said you normally don't, but then if it were you, you would?

You are welcome. I'm glad you liked it. I was kinda worried that you would think I was some sort of weirdo since we've never met or anything but I just had to share it with you. lol.

The other thing I do is keep a bunch of big ziploc bags up front with me for liquid trash like I put the soda cans in there & stuff that way I don't have to worry about them leaking all over the car or anything and I can just pitch them at the next stop. I also make sure I have at least two soft packets of unscented diaper wipes for quick clean up and of course, hand sanitizer.

A road trip sounds so good right now! (or in a month, either way. :)

So that pretty much holds our DS until we reach DL.

We also pack LOTS of bottled waters. Pop-tarts are also great to pack for breakfast on the go while at the parks!

I mean exactly what I said. I don't "normally" pack snacks. As in not all the time, but sometimes depending on the situation. If I were going to pack a snack for maybe a hike into the woods or some other type of trip needing snackage, my choice of snack would be trail mix.

    Sorry for the apparent confusion.
