I don't like the sound of that.

In between the new Be Our Guest restaurant and Little Mermaid is a "point" that could lend itself to opening up Fantasyland more .. all the way to the WDWRR .. or even beyond.

Those are the only ways I can see this happening. I can't see Disney ripping out what is there to move it back 20 ft or anything.

    Strange rumor.

But my Mom told me the other day, that the first construction walls should be going up before the end of the month. Starting around the Ariel's Grotto/former sub area toward Pooh. And they have started clearing out backstage stuff already, no parking in former parking areas, etc.

Probably not room to enter from the Skyway side, the HM show building would interfere.

Could they do something to change the orientation, so that a "DL facade" would not be on the bottom side of the building (current) , but the right side or something? But the restaurant is in the way.

    Like I said, weird rumor.

As likely as Disney lowering ticket prices in the next hundred years.

That just doesn't make good financial sense unless there is truly something physcially wrong with the current building. Yes, it doesn't have as impressive facade as the other parks, but, I love the flooded building concept over the trough version that Disneyland and Hong Kong Disneyland use. Those versions remind me too much of a log flume and seem more 'temporary'.

My opinion: Leave Small World alone and add Alice where the old Skyway station was, or better yet, scrap Pixie Hollow and put in a whole Wonderland section to the Enchanted Forest, complete with Alice dark ride, hedge maze, and Mad Tea Party and perhaps one other attraction (retheme of the Pixie Hollow cuddle-up ride to Alice perhaps). That would indeed be something worth visiting at the Magic Kingdom!

There is no doubt that the "storefront" design of WDW Small World is one of the least impressive versions of the ride.

I remember reading the placement of the building was a mistake. The bulding was moved into the walkway too far. The pathway there feels like a bottleneck and not adequate for the crowds in my opinion.

If they moved it back and dressed up the exterior like the other parks - I would be thrilled. The area needs some "icing" and the current area is ugly compared to it's sister parks.

My favorite Small World version is the Paris version. It has flooded show scenes like WDW but the ride meanders like the DL version. Right now at WDW, the boat enters into cavernous rooms. I perfer the tight meandering which allows the set/show pieces to be closer to the viewer.

MOVE IT !!! and give us some gorgeous lighting and charm. GO GO GO GO !!!
