so other then watching TV and playing Kingdom Hearts anyone have any ideas of what I can do for the next 5 days to make the time go by???

I do have some scrapbooking I guess I could do but there again all my stuff is down here by the computer and I have to keep my feet up and pretty much stay in a laying down position .. did I already say UGH!!

I know it could be worse so I am trying to just complain a small amount, sorry for my ranting

Anyway, do you have any good books to read like War & Peace, Lord of the Rings or Gone with the Wind? Or maybe Doctor Zhivago? Or you could do all of your Xmas shopping early by watching all of the home shopping channels. Your father would probably like a Diamonique pinky ring. LOL

I'm so sorry to hear that you're stuck in bed. Other than reading or doing crafts I don't really have any good ideas for you. Wish I could be of better help. Hang in there and be safe. :)

Also, bubblewrap is fun to pop for hours. You could also learn the lost art of shadow puppets. Maybe take up sign language. If you have a child (which by your name suggests it) you could get a bell and ring it when they are downstairs than pretend to be asleep (holding the bell of course) when the kid/s come to see what you need.

But my main suggestion would be if your on the 2nd floor, get a telescope and see what happens.

Or maybe a nice sleeping bag or even moving a mattress downstairs, if that's possible? That way, you can make downstairs your base so you don't have to climb up and down the stairs, and that way, you'd have access to the computer and your scrapbooking things.

A few years ago after I had surgery, stairs were impossible on my own. I was home for about 6 weeks, and for the first couple weeks, I would wake up when it was time for my husband to leave for work so that he could help me downstairs, and I spent the day downstairs. I just made sure that I took whatever I might have needed with me. I generally didn't go back upstairs until it was time to go to bed in the evening, and he would help me up the stairs.

If that doesn't work, I think audio books and CDs are a good idea. Any friends who might have some time to visit to help pass the time, though I don't know if there's someone who could let them in so you don't have to navigate the stairs.

    I love that, lol!

    Word search or crossword puzzles

Write some letters to family and friends... even thank you notes for those that are caring for you.

Can the kids come up and color or draw pictures with you?

    Mad Libs

Rent a bunch of movies you've never seen or want to see again.

    Get to know the Bible.

    Solitaire

Work on those holiday to-do lists.

    Christmas cards

Walk down memory lane by going through old photo albums / reading old letters.

Knit / cross stitch, crochet, etc.

Write a poem to your love

Plan your grocery list for a new recipe you want to try when you're feeling better.

Splurge on some magazines you enjoy but don't normally buy.

    Give yourself a manicure

Phone a friend or relative you've been out of touch with.

    Rest and feel better!

I agree! Learn how to knit, crochet or do needlepoint. It will pass the time, you'll feel like you're doing something productive and you can see your progress. Good luck!
