    the problem with the zune is the lack of a good working music store to match with it. part of the iPod appeal is the match with iTunes. If MS can fix that or at least settle on some download or DMA scheme they would sell more.

    It's like a clip-on tie. Which is never cool.

I haven't seen much from the iPod that is any better than that product, althout I did buy a Shuffle because it is great to use at the gym or running. I've never downloaded anything from the iTunes store. If I don't already have it on CD, I can always record something from internet radio for playback. I don't see how the whole iTunes store made iPods the super-success that they are, but I guess I'm not the target market.

    it wasnt the itunes store, it was iTunes. Because the iPod works so well with iTunes it makes it easy. Easy sells. With other MP3 devices you either had to use proprietary software or windows media player that is clunky at best.

    I generally wasn't all that impressed with iTunes when I first used it. It was about the same as WMP in my opinion. There's nothing wrong with iTunes, but I also don't give it high marks for really being particularly innovative.
