My friend's friends plan on going as a group of 20-ish people and want to dress up specifically as characters from Kingdom Hearts. Not the typical characters like Goofy or Donald, but like Sora, etc. that are strictly Kingdom Hearts characters. Would this be permitted at Disneyland? Apparently it's been done before (my source is another friend of a friend who is not a frequent Disneyland-er) and I don't find that difficult to believe, so I'm just wondering how strict the no-costumes policy is.

Looking at the Bat's Day pictures, I can also see that lots of adults wear hmmm.... shall we say non-standard clothing.

I'm assuming it is mostly around April. This has all been pretty helpful, thanks! Are there any current CMs (or former CMs) who can support any statements? I'm wondering if things have changed around. [To specify: technically most Kingdom Hearts characters ARE Disney characters as the game Kingdom Hearts is a collaboration between Disney and Square (Final Fantasy, etc). The main battle party characters of the game are Sora (from Final Fantasy), Goofy, and Donald. My friend's friends don't plan on going as the main Disney characters but characters most of you have probably never heard of, like Sora, Kairi, Riku, Ansem, and Cloud.]

Of course, as I said before, no one can tell you with 100% certainty that you'll be stopped, but from experience Disneyland does not allow adult Guests in costumes to enter the Parks. I can't speak for Bats Day, etc. and why different manner of clothing might not be stopped that day. All I can tell you is that the policy is that adult Guests are not allowed to be in costumes, and that it's likely you'll be asked to change. I would think that particularly with a group of many other people also in costume there will be lots of attention called to your group. Sorry there's not better news about the costumes because it sounds like it could be fun. I just would not be one bit surprised if the costume thing didn't go as panned. Spring Break is generally the week before and after Easter, but with the year-round schedule there are many schools out at different times. On the Disneyland schedule you can see when the hours are extended in that time period to see when the Resort expects to be busier than usual. Extended hours generally mean bigger crowds.

Now I swear I saw a couple in wedding attire with photographers getting their picture taken in front of Mickey and Walt. But I guess that could have been promo pictures or something so never mind my banter.

I think that would be creepy anyway, and a desperate plea for attention from the bride. But that's just me.
