According to my mom, at one point in the film when E.T. and one of the kids scream at each other in surprise, I covered my eyes, not my ears---and for a while afterward, if I heard something that scared me, I would cover my eyes. lol

I was kinda heartbroken when I found out years later this was my 1st film. I proudly held onto the "fact" that my first movie experience in a theater was "The Fox and the Hound", which was so fitting given my great love for Disney. Then I found out from my mom it was really "E.T." and so the legacy-like dream was crushed. lol

I remember some years when I was a kid we would go over to the Millers' house (from church) and watch it with them and their daughter. That was really fun. Gosh, I hadn't thought of that in so long---thanks for the memories. :)

I do remember taking my Star Wars figures with me to see Empire Strikes Back. Was too young to see Star Wars. And we went and saw Return of the Jedi with my sixth grade class. I remember seeing Temple of Doom, but ditto on the original Indiana Jones; too young. I remember seeing Fox and the Hound with my counsin Debbie. When did that come out? I know I saw Dumbo when I was a baby, though my mom said I slept through it, so it doesn't count. =)

Maybe I *did* see F&H first! I dunno though, I woulda been a little over 3...but then again, imdb.com says there wasn't a rerelease before 1988, but I swear I saw it much younger...

Of all the wonderful components of that movie, the one I most vividly remember is when the dog jumps out at Michael and Jane when they are running away from the bank. It scared the crap out of me ...

I also remember thinking how amazing Mary is when she made the smoke into a stairs.

I also remember the attendant getting me about four extra cushions so I could actually see over the seat infront of me.

2 of my favorite movies, and I still own copies of them today ("Follow That Bird" on VHS and "...Roger Rabbit" on DVD).
