when did the Fantasyland Makeover of '83 start?

If I recall, It's a Small World and the Matterhorn may have been open in stints, but they closed the whole thing and redid it. It made the DCA redo seem small potatoes in comparison (not talking about the attractions, but the way the refurb project was done)

    ^^ He said DCA redo, not the original building of. They didn't have to worry about guests inside the park when they first built DCA, but it is one of the things they have to worry about during the redo, hence the comparison to fantasyland 83.

    And it was definately closed by 1982.

    During the reconstruction, the Skyway ran, at least part of the time. It was round-trip from Tomorrowland only, but you could ride out over the construction, and ride back. I did that once with my dad at a SoCal Gas private party. A good memory.

    OMG, is THAT who that was...totally agree, truly , TRULY awful!!

    Does anyone recall if the New Fantasyland special was the one that starred Danny Kaye and Drew Barrymore? If so, I actually thought that one was kind of cute.
