It's always tough to fully gauge the attendance flows at this park as their spokespeople have long considered visitor counts a state secret. Yet spokesman Bob Tucker dropped a strong hint that hot and humid didn't mean much: "Historically, heat isn't an issue." Disneyland does offer plenty of shade – from trees to cooled, indoor waits on many rides. Plus, Disneyland is often less of an impulse trip than the fair or other amusement parks. Folks visiting from Tarzana or Topeka or Tokyo are unlikely to change long-arranged plans because of sweltering conditions. And, Disneyland has been the local tourism star. It's turned a 50th anniversary party into a major marketing coup.<<

I went to both parks during the previous heat wave and lines were less than 30 minutes for everything except Splash and Soaring. The evening crowd for the fireworks and ELP were decent.

Also,Marcie from Mouseinfo has stated (yesterday) that DCA is going to increase AGAIN this year in attendance, contrary to what Darkbeer is saying, the parks attendance has been going up since last year not down. Its funny,we hear this same song from certain people every year, about how terrible DCA is doing, and how other parks in the SO CA area will beat DCA this year etc etc,and every year since 2002 DCA has increased and beat those other parks in attendance.Lets see what happens again this year, weve had an entire summer of certain people screamin about how dead DCA is,just like every other year,I cant wait for the figures to be released with another increase. amazing how DCA has increases every year even though they struggle day to day to get ANYONE in their gates those pictures you post Darkbeer are soo telling! lol

I have to say, the weather has kept my family and me away so far this summer. I really want to see the new Pirates, and I thought this summer might be a good time to go; lower crowds than last summer since the 50th is kind of old news now, but still those nice long summer hours. But there's no way I was going to go with as hot and miserable as it was in July. If things get better, maybe we'll make it before the hours get cut. Luckily, we're less than an hour away, so we can sort of make a spur of the moment decision. I'm curious to see the new Pirates, and so is my daughter (who LOOOOOOOOVES Johnny Depp).
