The survey also found women would risk injury to squeeze into new slingbacks or stilettos, with 43 percent of women saying they had been at least moderately injured by shoes and 8 percent reporting serious injuries like sprains or breaks.<<

    >>The telephone survey found women on average bought four pairs of shoes a year -- with 13 percent admitting to hiding a purchase from their partner.

    Personally, I prefer the sundae.

I went to payless, and found a nice pair for less than $10. Got them home, and they ended up being too narrow on my feet.

I was then at Walmart, and found some shoes on clearance. Found a pair for $13 and they are perfect! I've ran in them and been wearing them ever since. Love them!

I had a pair of Sketchers I've had for 2 years and while they're comfy, they're just not supportive enough for a day at Disneyland or Sea World.

Actually when I do go shoe shopping I end up staring longingly at the Sketchers because I really like the styles they offer, but I know I would be sorry. My daughter has a couple pair and she loves hers, but they just don't work for me. :(

I especially hate shopping at a shoe store where they have to get the shoes for you because I feel so bad when I ask for so many and don't buy any! I know it is there job but somehow I feel bad for wasting there time.
I was so happy when we got Payless Shoes for that reason but I am not that fond of their shoes.
I have never been a shoe person and have never understood that obsession. (One obsession is enough though LOL) A pair of running shoes, a pair of sandals and and light and dark pair of dress shoes and that is all I need.
The funny thing is that my 9 year old daughter is a "shoe-person" and seemed to develop it from birth. At three she admired people's shoes and would even compliment them at the mall. One of her favorite things to do is to just go try on shoes, even if she can't get any. She definitely owns more shoes than me and I am sure that she will be one of those women with hundreds of shoes and of course, purses to match. That is a whole other story!

I have over 2 dozen pairs of shoes, and if you throw in the golf shoes, that makes it about 30 pairs. They are mostly very sensible shoes though :).

When my kids were younger, I bought them lots of shoes too. You gotta have your tennis shoes, dress shoes, boots, sandals, and various styles/colors to compliment all of their cute outfits. Shoes for every occasion!

And they have to be *good* quality shoes, too. No pleather or vinyl :).
I figure, God only gives you one pair of feet that have to last an entire lifetime, so you better take care of them by buying good shoes that fit correctly!

Thankfully for my check book, neither DS seemed to inherit the shoe fetish gene.
