Unless of course the structure is full and then they park you in the lot. Is this accurate? I am asking becfause on one of the other boards I got the impression that the Harbor entrance is not considered to be the main entrance any longer. Rather the entrance to the structure or somewhere off of Disney Way is the main drive entry. Can you pay for parking at the parking structure? This sounds like a silly question, but my granddaughter is insisting that this summer we need to ride the trams. Apparently we skipped that "ride" two years ago. Actually, she is remembering the last day from 4 years ago. On our last day we parked at the parking structure and took the tram into the park and back out in the evening. We stay at a hotel and either walk or use the ART, so there is really no reason to use the trams. Looks like this year I will park us at the structure or the lot when we arrive and then move the car when our room is ready for check-in. That should satisfy the tram "ride" requirement.

Also, the carpool lane from I-5 north also exits on Disney Way (where the route crosses the freeway). But from those coming from the North, I-5 recommends you get off on Disneyland Drive, which takes you to the parking structure. The carpool lane also drops you off at the same exit. As for what happens, if you are coming from the south and Disney Way, if it is really busy, the Pummba Lot will be open east of Harbor, and Disney tries to get folks to park there first. The main drawback, no tram service, so a bit of a walk. If not, then you enter the old entrance off of Harbor, and go to the parking lot toll booths (same location as they have been for decades). If it is busy, then they will park you in the Timon lot next to DCA, unless it is full. (Disney doesn't use the lot on slow days to save money, as there is no need for the Lion King Trams, and also less CM's to park the cars). If Timon is full, then on really busy days, you are directed to Disneyland Drive, and go straight over it to the Simba lot next to the Paradise Pier lot. Another parking lot without tram service. In fact, this lot has a longer walk than Pummba. On lighter days, or if Simba is full, then you make a right on Disneyland Drive to Magic Way, then a left to a special secondary entrance to the parking structure.
