It's just very insulting to be lied to like that. Do they really expect us to believe that of all the problems guests have with food and beverage service at WDW, that eliminating Prime Rib from the buffets was at the top of the list of guest requests? I also understand that they really can't come out and say "we're eliminating Prime Rib to reduce costs but we're not lowering the price." But they could say nothing at all, or even something neutral like "We change the food items from time to time, including based on market conditions" such that we'd know the reason even if they don't come out and say what it is. But the real problem here isn't that they're feeding us a line of b.s. (not that they aren't). The big problem is that I think this fosters a culture within the company of actually buying into this nonsense. Once mentalities like this get loose within a company, they can do an incredible amount of damage, especially if the internal culture gets to the point where people that don't buy into it are viewed as "not being team players." That is, if it gets to the point where to get along internally, you have to really believe (or at least say and act like you do) that changes like eliminating Prime Rib is being done due to guest request, then all sorts of bad decisions start getting made.

But the LBV Pizza Hut (which hosts loads of Disney CMs at lunchtime) offers a fresh never-ending assortment of pizzas, with a few pastas, breadsticks and sauce, salad bar and dessert pizza for $6.59 a person. A GREAT value! And I'd love to tell you how amazing Pizza Hut is in China but I think the nasty old ADMIN would yell, so let's stick to the Pizza Hut nearest the pixie dust!

People notice the WalMarting. Not us fans who argue back and forth about it because we're Disney geeks. But regular Joe and Sarah Sixpacks taking the family on a magical 10-day vacation from say ... Wasilla ... they know when they get into their room and the carpeting is dirty ... they know when the CMs are nasty ... they know when they go to a buffet and for four the price is $150 while the food quality is mediocre at best ... they know. And they'll never show up here on a Disney fan discussion board. they'll just not take a return trip ... And these people don't register on the TDO Power Points, they don't. <<A reputation is easy to get and difficult to repair. Just ask Ford, GM, and chrysler. If they had it to do over again would they maximize profits at the expense of quality?>> Probably. People, especially American execs, are greedy and shortsighted. They don't care that they lost me and my family (and friends if I can help it) for LIFE. They don't realize that I'd spend $40,000 on a Hyundai before I'd spend $20,000 on a Chevy, Dodge or Ford. They -- like Disney execs -- just believe there's an unending supply of new victims out there.
