Legoland is for the much younger crowd and Knots doesn't carry enough fire-power to draw in roller coaster loving teens(assuming your teens are into straight thrill with no backstory or theme). Sea World is a pleasant, clean family friendly park but I just don't know how teen boys would take to it--- maybe your 8 year old would like it. Also, it is about a 1 1/2 hr drive from Dl.

But take head because villains is right... it is a good solid hour to get up to Santa Clarita for Six Flags from Disland. Resort and if you hit nasty traffic expect much more time on the road.

Another option if this is a park for on the way home - you could try and go to the Six Flaggs in Vallejo - it is part traditional thrill ride park and part animal park - I think they call it animal kingdom (used to be marine world) My teens like this and since my daughter is petite we can still hit the areas for younger riders plus see the whales, sharks, tigers, elephants... Not sure how far out of the way it is for you - it's at highway 37 right off highway 80 - I am sure someone could tell you the time diffence -
Also if you are going to DL in the off season you will need to check these other parks calendars as many don't operate all year!!

If enjoyment for all over time constraints is the desision maker - I would definately choose Animal Kingdom over Magic Mountain...(it's cleaner and has a better clinental)
