The CM's there are also not good. Again, the CM's working at restaurants in Disneyland have declined the worst out of the general CM decline of the last 3-5 years, but Rancho CM's are some of the most noticeably inferior. Lazy, sloppy looking, careless, bored, grumpy about sums up the average Rancho CM. Some Disneyland CM's almost seem like street-thugs now, and the Rancho CM's play up that sterotype the worst with their baggy clothes and sullen expressions on their face.

Try eating at Catal; that's where I go for lunch at Disneyland now. It's dramatically better than the slop and sullen service you get from most Disneyland restaurants.

It's a great example of taking a simple concept and making overly complicated.

The old menu -- reasonably priced tacos, enchiladas, beans and rice was served fresh, hot and fast -- gets replaced with pseudo-sophisticated expensive Mexican entress, that take too long to get prepared, and by the time you get to your table are cold.

    New concept -- customer loses.

I enjoy the mexican caesar and the taco salads. Large enough for two.

However, I don't go there often as I like the cobb salad at Plaza Inn even better.

Lousy service and lousy food is one of the reasons that we eat few meals inside the parks.

But the all time champ in sloooowwww service (IMHO) is the Tortilla Jo's takeout window. Why can't they be quick like Chipotle or QDoba?

I enjoy the setting, so with him liking the food and me being happy just being in DLR we tend to eat at Rancho at least once every trip.

We've never had an issue with the CM's at Rancho.

It satisfies the craving for Mexican food (can't go too long without!) and I love the atmosphere - especially the Big Thunder Mountain side. It's just fun. :)
