If DCA was successful enough to stay open until 11pm, I'm sure concerns about homeowners would quickly evaporate. Noise didn't stop Disneyland from blasting off 17 minutes of fireworks almost every night for four years.

And if the closing times were because there wasn't sufficient attendance, then why has DCA closed a couple hours earlier than Dland ever since DCA opened. They didn't try being open the same hours to begin with, they started out with shorter hours.

Personally though I've never needed more then 6 hours at DCA to do every ride at the park, Even on the busiest days

This is about the time Mr. Lutz dubbed the park DLR's "Heroin Monkey".

Even the "DCA is hell on earth" crowd tends to admit the place looks great after dark (especially the Pier with the lagoon filled in), and there is little there that is limited to daytime (like much of Frontierland). Had they added more teen/young adult-friendly entertainment offerings after dark, they could have positioned DCA as the place to be in the evenings. It's all going to be moot soon with WOC, presumably. I see that as a big hit that will necessitate two shows a night for all but the slowest times.

DCa however has rides that load faster and have shorter waits and therefore guests don't need the whole day to be happy with the amount of rides they get done.

It's true that they would pick up the dinner hour, but what would this do to ticket sales? Keep in mind that the model originally was that DCA would support single-day tickets on its own at the same price as DL, or at least additional days on a multi-day non-park-hopping ticket. How are you going to sell many single-day tickets for day visitors that chose DCA over DL if the park doesn't open until 1pm?
