Is this just the typical time to take vacation and go to the park?

The crowds during the summer are mainly out-of-towners who have no other time to come, or are thinking that SoCal's weather is pleasant all year.

I do not go during the summer, except for Disneyland's birthday. I can't handle the heat AND the humidity. I can take one or the other, but not both (which is why I'm in my house with the a/c on, because it's a little too humid to go with the 100+ temp)

Maybe you are confused with Orlando weather?

The same weather is happening today, as it's happened all week. It's currently 71 and breezy in Anaheim. Bring a sweatshirt or light jacket if you are staying for the fireworks.

HM we walked right in though (later however, the line was outside the gate) - Pirates - although long and winding - was continuous and we waited maybe 15 minutes. Splash and Space both had hour wait times minimum - naturally we used fast passes. Darn all those vacationers!! LOL

It's an amazing deal, and probably even APs are taking advantage because 3 blackout tickets are $135. That could be accounting for the extra crowds, too.

Dr - what recession are we in again? Because it really doesn't seem to have slowed people down. I work for SW Airlines and we are busier and our planes are more full than they ever have been!

Hollywood was thick with people. It was very hard to see handprints at the Chinese theater. I do think Disneyland also hit a near capacity crowd while we were there.

They have them for sale (same offer, 5 for 3) at our local Safeway here in Colorado.
