Will the DCA Muppets ever return? If they aren't now, will they ever?

The Pizza Planet quick service location (right next to their Muppet Vision) is closed for an extended refurbishment, and all indications point to it coming back with a Muppet theme. This move seems particularly bold when you consider that this area is located directly between Star Tours and the proposed Star Wars land. It doesn't look like it's going anywhere any time soon

As for DCA, it's tough to say. Seeing how permanent a lot of the Frozen stuff appeared, I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of the AAs and other physical effects were removed during the conversion. I know that Mad T Party will be ending this spring (have they announced a replacement?), but it seems like that could work nicely with an Alice 2 preview, similar to how ElecTRONica originally featured the Tron preview

Then again, maybe they're finally realizing that people don't spend $100 per day to visit Disneyland just to watch an extended preview of something that will be in local theaters in a few weeks for $12. Even when I was an APer, I had difficulty justifying spending my park time in such a manner. But knowing how things have been going, I suspect these will continue for the foreseeable future

It deserves a remake, but I kind of doubt it will get one. Maybe at the Studios they will if Ferret is correct about the Pizza Planet redo.

To me the bigger question, as least as far as DCA is concerned, is ITTBAB. I enjoyed that more than Muppets, but that seems to have been turned into a routine preview center.

As for MuppetVision, it's often hailed as the pinnacle of the Muppet franchise. It was the last project that Jim Henson worked on himself, and I think it's aged remarkably well for the Muppets style of humor (as well as can be expected for a 25+ year old film). Personally, I think it's my favorite of the 3D films in the parks, but I've also seen it enough that I wouldn't be terribly disappointed if it was replaced

So I think those of us who would like to see an update have just grown weary of seeing the same old same old... not that there is something "wrong" with the original.

If it is coming back, it's not coming back now. I don't know why they would let it sit and then bring it back at a later date.

Or maybe they'll just let the building sit empty for the foreseeable future. That corner of DCA really could use another vacant show building...

Maybe they still think it has a future as a movie franchise.

That's one of my favorite lines of all time! I try to sneak it into normal conversation whenever possible, which is surprisingly easy to do! : )

    Bingo.

Mine too, actually. But I'm hoping a new production would have a line or two equally good, and we could get rid of Waldo!

On the weekend we have seen Muppets Most Wanted. The movie was okay, but far from being as good as The Muppets movie with Jason Segel. I hope Disney keeps the Muppets in the parks.

WDW parks (particularly all but MK) rely much less on rides, but at DLR, they are the heart and soul. Lonely little Monster's Inc. needs some friends.
