I come from a very conservative background. I'm a Mormon. I have an uncle close to Mitt Romney. My workplace went out shooting yesterday for fun and the boss listens to Glenn Beck every day. While I do have conservative beliefs, I enjoy thinking critically and hearing other points of view, especially in a civil manner.

No matter who wins, we don't need 4 more years of that pre-school nonsense.

As long as we sit silently and decline to highlight your inconsistencies and hypocrisies, Josh, all is copacetic. But the moment any of us dare to question something you've stated or the actions of someone you support, like Romney, then we're suddenly not acting in a "civil manner" and must be shut down. And if you actually believe that you enjoy thinking critically... think again. You're about as far removed from critical thinking on a regular basis as is Glenn Beck. But then again, most very conservative individuals are. That's what makes them very conservative to begin with.

The Dick Morrises and Karl Roves are just interested in the game, not in honestly improving the country. That is what I think is so infuriating. I want to hear the conservative voice, not the socially reactionary voice. I want to hear that national conversation about state power versus federal power. But we can't have the conversation today. If the GOP and the South continues along these lines then I wonder how mug longer this will remain a single nation.

Are you within earshot of the radio broadcast? Can you hear it from your desk or work area? It was perfectly logical for SPP to draw the conclusion that Beck is an influence in your conservative political values, Josh, especially if you can hear the broadcast for yourself.
