My daughter was a waitress (not at DL) and she always tipped the busboy as well as a little for the chief. Strangely, her tables were always cleared first and her orders were up first.
Originally Posted By juicer That is funny you should mention that What I was told at the time...The reason that the servers did not tip out the bussboys was because that 4 or 5 years earlier (prior to when I was working there) - the bussboys were tiped out with at least 10-15% of what the servers at the club took in on tips - As per the story I was given...the union was renegotiating the bossboys and servers contract and gave the option to the bussboys a higher hourly then any bussboys working at Disneyland without being tipped out - As per the story...the club bussboys at the time said OK to the higher hourly and no tips - Well...by the time I came along the rest of the parks bussboys hourly went up to what the club bussboys were making per hour - only we were not making any tips! So naive me thought (at the time) Hey...I'm going to talk to my union rep and see if there is anything we (bussboys) could do - He said for me to talk to my restaurants shop stewart who by the way was a SERVER! It got back to her (the server who was the shop stewart at the club) and she in her mean way had most of the staff not talk to me for a week! I was sooo naive that I did'nt know what was going on and did'nt realy know that I should be feeling bad - All I knew that the servers were being very quiet to me that week! LOL! Its so funny that after all these years its still making me mad! By the way, all in all I did like working at the club and had some fun experiences there - But if I knew then what I know now....Oooo boy, things would of been different!
