Ugh, okay so recently there was a thread about Disney Visa on here and how they like to freeze accounts.

Well, guess what happened to ME? Yep, you guessed it! I'm standing at the cash register at the Disney Store, with (3) 5-day hopper passes which totalled $530+, when the Cast Member tells me my card has been declined. What? Okay, so I know the card is valid...I know the bill is paid....they should be accepting my card.

Of course, I'm humiliated, there are tons of people behind me and I stand there like a schmuck! I left the store without the tickets because at that point the only other credit card in my wallet is one I haven't used in such a long time that I was afraid that one WOULD get refused only because it was a large charge against a card that hasn't been used in probably over a year. And, unfortunately, I left my debit card at home in the back pocket of my work slacks that I had worn earlier in the day.

Of course I called only to be told my account was frozen to protect me because...get this....its holiday time and it was a large charge and so they were trying to protect my account against fraudulent charges! Okay, so....hello? Do you NOT want me to use my card?

I am so furious. My card is supposedly unblocked...and supposedly they've marked my vacation dates down...but as soon as we get home and I've used up our visa rewards card...say "goodbye" to Disney Visa. I won't cancel the card...because I want access to the 'perks' at the park...but I will not be using it any longer either.

Sorry...my rant is over...I need to go think about Disneyland and get back to my "happy" place.

PS...When you call Disney Visa to have your card "unblocked", that only clears your card and is valid for 30 days...something the rep told me! So, technically, 30 days from now I could have to go through this whole ordeal again....I THINK NOT!

Do you mean that it might happen again in 30 days????!!!!

Sorry to be the bearer of band news nemopoppins!

This card just isn't worth it for me. Like I said, I won't cancel it because I want the free perks, but with so many reward cards out there...I'll try another one before I'm humiliated like this again. I've heard too many horror stories from others, and then to have it happen to me, just not worth it!!

    Hope everything works out!

Its a more..pay-as-you-go card for us.

As I have listened to other people's horror stories, I have had the same reaction as you..."well, I've never had any problems." Until NOW, and I have to say, I pride myself on my good credit and to be told my card was declined standing in line with a bunch of people behind me...it was a humiliating experience! One that I don't plan on repeating!

For your sake, I truly hope your luck holds out!!

What is going on at the Disney store anyway? I popped in there today and it was absolutely packed and there were no good sales, just a couple of "junk" type things on clearance for $2.99 like incredible sticker things and the only other "deal" was the $5 t-shirts. I would have bought those but my dd was with me and as it was she did pick out a shirt. They had an actual line set up in the middle of the store with ropes and poles! I guess it is already holiday shopping time?

It must be because I can guarantee you it was PACKED last night, which was why I was so embarrassed. I haven't gone back yet to get the tickets. At this point, I may not even worry about it and just get them at the gate on Sunday night. I'll probably pay more at the ticket booth, but since we plan on upgrading to APs it really doesn't matter. Do the park hoppers at the gate still get (1) early entry????

1% Cash back on everything else.

I've read all the details and have compared with other cards as well and think this is the one we will be going with.

Just wanted to give you guys another alternative in case you were looking too!

I'll see how it goes. Now, I just have to figure out which card I want to cancel because I only like having a certain number of "open" cards!

We tried to pay our mortgate with the card but our mortgage company wouldn't go for it.
