When I've rented cars, I've had the chance to listen to XM radio. I'm a big fan of the film soundtrack channel -- Cinemagic. Sirius does not offer a similar channel, thus my preference will be for XM. Of course, your milage may vary.

I personally have sirius and love it and all the cars my dad brings home from work has XM so when Im over there I usually take his cars out for a drive. I personally listen to the NFL games as I dont have the NFL package at home and need to listen to my Bucs. Howard is sort of turn off for Sirius for me, but I just skip those channels. The only downside to the onlines is that they dont let you listen to some of the news and sports broadcasts so it might no give you a full comparison. Also, hook up for both is very easy so equipment hook up wont be much of a problem for either. My Clarion head unit has the hook ups for Sirius so thats why I went with them, than was just happy to have the NFL to go with it. Anyays, good luck and welcome to satellite radio.

I enjoy their Broadway chanel but I'm reluctant to play it when the store is open because they will occasionally play a contemporary Broadway song with R-rated language in it. A couple of times I've had a store full of customers and have had to make a mad dash to the back room to change the chanel before an offending lyric would come up.

Anybody who doesnt want to get it due to 1 or 2 channells is missing out on over 100+ other good or great ones. I had to laugh the other day i was in a store and struck a conversation with a guy that really wanted to get Sirius but didnt want it to appear that he was getting it for Stern,{cause he cant stand him} I named off a bunch of other stuff they have while we were listening to Disorder which he thought was the perfect station after listening for about 20 mins he said i gotta get this. I told him if anyone asks say its for Martha and Richard Simmons, that may help hide the Stern thing.

I already pay for phone service, IPS, and satellite; I really don't need yet another bill every month just to be 'connected' to the world! So... if I was going to get Serius, I'd just go all in, and buy the $500 lifetime agreement.
