It seems like resort guests are a huge portion of the park visitors (especially during slower times), so I can't imagine they would give it to all of them; additionally, even if there was an added benefit, I don't know why they couldn't just program the regular pucks differently to indicade the difference My guess (which is a total guess) is that the first batch of pucks is starting to wear out, and they bought the cheapest replacement ones possible, which just happened to be yellow. The idea that anyone would actually think it is a rose is silly, so I'm not sure that the color makes a huge difference anyway (plus, there are are yellow roses)
