Unfortunately for the Yeti, it's the focal point of the entire backstory and attraction, leaving a much bigger and more visible hole So I guess the question I have that has never been answered is who is to blame? Did the structural designers under-design the foundation? Did the construction crew cut corners somewhere? Was the figure built with bad parts that transferred the load incorrectly? Did the programmers use too much of the available power? The early promos for the ride often talked about how powerful the figure was ("with the thrust of a 747!"), so they clearly had a good idea of what they were dealing with, so it seems that someone made a concious decision along the line that ended up killing the yeti.
