So, what's the point of THIS thread, to mend fences or something? If so, better to start with an APOLOGY rather than start up with some smarmy crap about how the liberals are insulting each other. Just my 2 bits, of course.

I'm reacting about her because of the complete and utter moron she is and what we been finding out about her. But Im only talked about her. But it seriously pisses me off that these people would honestly KNOW she isnt ready for office and keep it secret to win votes. Yeah, that bothers me.....a lot!! But, I'm getting over it lol. Just as long as she stays in Alaska.....that's litterally as far as she can physically be from the White House while still living in America. I soooo love the symbolism in that ;D.

As I wrote to someone else on another thread, there was one time or another when most of us were squarely supportive of Bush, particularly after the attacks...it's nice to see that MANY of the "reasonable right" are willing to at least give President Elect Obama a fair shot before condemning him (MANY, though sadly far from ALL lol). IN any case, appreciate hearing your comments, and I'm sorry I mis-cast you in that other thread as I wrote over there... And yes, the people eating each other is really quite astonishing (but, I guess...that's politics in America right?).

They were using language and making references (we've all seen them) that I dare not even refer to on this board. I chatted a bit and then posed an idea that got a reaction not unlike me showing them that I was an alien and had three heads. All I said was, "Well he's the President now, we need to get behind him and see if just maybe things get better in this country." I'm glad I'm related to one of them. I left unscathed. But as we talked they did agree (they may have meant it or not) that he was now the Pres and being an American means getting behind him and working for a better America. It remains to be seen if Obama is out for our best interests, but we have no choice but to grab onto his idea of HOPE and his mantra of YES WE CAN. I'm pulling for him, because I'm pulling for us.

I sat there, and sat there, and sat there (which is saying something b/c our ballot was 6 pages front and back...and I stayed even longer than most.) I was thinking back through the entire campaign in my head. I was thinking about the commercials, the attack ads and all of the ancillary stuff. I kept asking myself the same question: Did either of these guys give me a reason to cast my vote for them? The answer...a very simple and clear "no". Why all the hate? It was destined to happen. As bad as it is...imagine if McCain had won. People would be calling McCain supporters racist, "they only voted for McCain b/c Obama is black" and who knows what else. Change is going to happen, of that we can be sure. But, if anyone REALLY knows what that change will be I'll give you my 401K (not that is is worth much anyway).
