And they won't just be building in places without Starbucks - they'll be building more and more stores across the street or even in the same building from each other. In addition, they will start installing Starbucks vending machines in places where there isn't a store. They've found that people are not likely to wait in the long lines that can often be found at a Starbucks, so by building more locations closer to each other they capture more business. http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/ business/1310AP_Starbucks_Saturation.html

If the thought of unbuckling a seatbelt makes you tired, it might be time for a little more exercise.

ON THE SAME STREET. It's nuts. I don't like Starbucks that much myself but realize like Peets fans and Dunkin Donuts frapp junkies, there are marketing niches for everyone.. I just wish there was more variety.. (btw the retail units in our building are available too not that I'm marketing for them.. I just wish there was some Peets downtown.. not just in the "Beach Cities" as SeanYoda calls them.. Oh and has anyone heard of "PINKBERRY" (they seem to be doing the same sort of frozen yogurt world take-over in the LA area.. hee hee). I haven't tried them yet.. but they are imfamous on the urban planning blogs. How Starbucks gets away with this over saturation of the market is anyones guess but it's the baristas that will suffer for it in the end, methinks.. (theyre the ones that lose out when the shops have to downsize).
