We begin our adventures in deepest, darkest parts of South American on a river they call the jungle sea...the Amazon. Everything about the Amazon is larger than life...including these giant butterflies on the right and left of the boat.

Their wing spans can range from 12 inches all the way up to a whopping.......1 foot.

The Amazon river carries more water than any other river in the world....and that is largely due to waterfalls like this one. This is Schweitzer Falls...named for the famous Dr. Falls.

Through past years there are times when the management cracks down on skippers to prevent them from going off-script and other times when they get away with a lot.

I was there at a period when there wasn't a big concern about going off-script so long as it was clean and appropriate. I was able to judge a group of passengers pretty quickly and determine when I needed to liven things up some.
