Mystery Bag Figures
When you think of Funko, you don't necessarily think about the recently popular blind bag figures. That's why I was so surprised by the sheer volume of blind bag and mystery products on the market. The ones that appealed to me the most were the Disney Emoji Blitz figures. I really love the mobile game and these make adorable desk chotchkies. Funko brands other emoji characters as "mymoji," which is the label that applies to the similar Marvel and Star Wars versions. There appears to be 3 faces for every character, which makes these a lot of fun.
Marvel's Pint-Sized Heroes mystery bag line is expanding as well, with collections for Spider-Man, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, and Spider-Man: Homecoming. I recently received my first Pint-Sized Heroes figures through the Marvel Collector's Corps and they are super cute.
Mystery Box Figures
We move from bags to boxes with collections of some very fun Disney characters. The newest properties in the collection are Moana and the live action version of Beauty and the Beast. On the more evergreen side, there are sets themed to Disney Princess, Disney Villains, and The Nightmare Before Christmas. My favorite aspect of these figure sets is that it includes sidekicks, allowing you to get characters like Gus, Diablo, and Flotsam & Jetsam.
Plushes
I'm a huge plush collector and I had no clue that Funko had entered this market. Mega Pop Plush follows the style of the Pop Vinyl series in two squishy sizes. On display were Jack and Sally from The Nightmare Before Christmas.
Moving away from the Pop Vinyl look, Funko has plush collections on the horizon based on Disney Princesses, Guardians of the Galaxy, and Kingdom Hearts.
There's more Funko fun to be found on the next page, including Wobblers, Dorbs, and Pop Vinyls.
Wobblers
Wobblers are Funko's take on bobble head figures. It's still a relatively new venture for them and no Disney figures were on display. However, Marvel fans can acquire Iron-Man and Captain America, while Star Wars fans can get classic characters like Boba Fett, Princess Leia and Darth Vader in addition to a Rogue One collection.
Dorbz
Is there anything more adorable than Dorbz? The collection has grown quite a bit since last year. On the Disney side, there are characters from Beauty and the Beast, Moana, Pirates of the Caribbean, Big Hero 6, and The Nightmare Before Christmas.
My first exposure to Dorbz was through the Marvel Collector Corps and the line of Marvel Dorbz has grown exponentially. The current line from Funko includes the first Dorbz Ridez that I've ever seen, Deadpool in a Chimichanga food truck. The line also now includes Doctor Strange, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, and X-Men.
Pop Vinyls
When you clicked on this article, I bet you thought this was all you were going to see. And while Pop Vinyls still make up the majority of the products from Funko, I hope I've enlightened you to all of the other fun ways Funko celebrates your Disney fandom. On the Disney branded side, there are collections for Beauty and the Beast (live action and animated), Moana, Disney Princess (Tiana, Rapunzel, Cinderella, Ariel, and Sebastian), Lilo & Stitch, a bug's life, and Ratatouille.
The Marvel lineup includes Spider-Man: Homecoming, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Daredevil, X-Men, Falcon, Gamora, Doctor Strange, Spider-Gwen, Captain Marvel, Doctor Octopus, Gwenpool, Deadpool's Chimichanga Truck, and Jessica Jones.
Star Wars was well represented at the Funko booth with a display of vinyls from the original trilogy, The Force Awakens, Rogue One, and Star Wars: Rebels. There's no doubt that an entire collection will be launched for The Last Jedi, but like every other licensee at Toy Fair, they weren't allowed to show anything yet.
Classic ABC series were on the shelf as well. The Golden Girls recently debuted on Hulu and now you can have your cheesecake (and eat it, too) with these Pop Vinyls, as well as a series based on the cult classic, Lost.
But the big reveal at Toy Fair was the collection of Kingdom Hearts Pop Vinyls. Mickey, Donald, Goofy, Pete, Chip and Dale will all be available next month. And in addition to the Pop Vinyl figures, you can also collect the aforementioned plush set and a keychain collection.
