For many people, Disneyland is the very best place to celebrate the holidays. Halloween is no exception; with the highlight of the season being an eagerly anticipated private party whose treats are available only for lucky holders of a somewhat limited number of tickets. This year all of those tickets have been purchased for the season.

Welcome to Mickey’s Halloween Party

While this is the season of “trick or treat,” Disneyland places emphasis on treats. The season may be spooky, but at the happiest place on earth guests will find there are more surprises and fun than scares. Mickey’s Halloween Party is family friendly, with something for everyone.

Starting out the fun is the atmosphere created throughout the park with special music and decorations. Main Street USA, Sleeping Beauty Castle, and the façade of it’s a small world are transformed through lighting and projections.

The tangible treats are offered at various “Treat Trails” found throughout the park. In addition to a variety of candy, guests are offered chips, fruit, and even baby carrots in individual bags. The distribution is conducted swiftly in treat bags provided by Disney.

Entertainment is offered throughout Disneyland. The Cadaver Dans perform floating on a barge in a dense fog along the Rivers of America. The wise cracking Living Scarecrows can be found in Frontierland. In Tomorrowland younger guests may dance the night away at the Pixar Pals Halloween Dance Party.

The signature attractions are the parade, held twice nightly, and the special fireworks show. The Frightfully Fun Parade is preceded by an appearance by the Headless Horseman, in pursuit of the hapless Ichabod Crane. The Disney villains are featured, although Mickey and Minnie lead off the festivities. Halloween Screams is billed as a Villainous Surprise in the Skies.

It wouldn’t be a celebration at Disneyland without photo opportunities. There are special locations available, as well as appearances by a number of Disney characters. Taken together, these are the many treats offered at Mickey’s Halloween Party at Disneyland.
