Today Disney announced DCA's Luigi's Flying Tires would be closing with a replacement attraction coming in 2016. From 1961 to 1966 Disney had an attraction called The Flying Saucers where guests could float on a cushion of air that guests maneuver by leaning their bodies. But the ride never worked reliably and was closed after only five years. Flash forward 46 years and Disney once again opened a ride that floated on a cushion of air that guests maneuver by leaning their bodies. And with "modern technology", the result? The ride will be closed after only three years.
What did the Interweb have to say about the closing??? Use your arrows keys, click the buttons below or swipe to see my TwitPicks on the subject.
Disneyland is closing Luigi's Flying Tires, which is fine with me. I actually thought it was too much of a wait for a kind of ok ride.— Nick Park (@sput_nick) February 6, 2015
Worst. Ride Ever. California Adventure's Luigi's Flying Tires ride is closing - The Orange County Register http://t.co/tGddAsYSd1— Dorothy Pomerantz (@DorothyPWrites) February 6, 2015
Aquatopia was one of the most pointless Disney theme park rides I've experienced. Still, it's a lot more fun than Luigi's Flying Tires.— Christian (@Tarihc78) February 6, 2015
