Today Disney announced DCA's Luigi's Flying Tires would be closing with a replacement attraction coming in 2016. From 1961 to 1966 Disney had an attraction called The Flying Saucers where guests could float on a cushion of air that guests maneuver by leaning their bodies. But the ride never worked reliably and was closed after only five years. Flash forward 46 years and Disney once again opened a ride that floated on a cushion of air that guests maneuver by leaning their bodies. And with "modern technology", the result? The ride will be closed after only three years.

What did the Interweb have to say about the closing??? Use your arrows keys, click the buttons below or swipe to see my TwitPicks on the subject.

Not everyone will miss the ride. Opinions like this one were pretty common.
As were the puns
I love puns!
This may be an overstatement. Have you ridden the original Journey Into Imagination?
Rumors are a land-based version of DisneySea's Aquatopia will be its replacement.
This one is my favorite. John Lassetter was very exciting about this ride when it opened. For example...
Bye for now. Maybe they'll try again in another 40 years.
