UPDATE: Here are the highlights of today's presentation.

  • Disney Infinity was the No. 1 game in the toys-to-life category in 2015 for the second straight year.
  • In 2016, Disney Infinity is shifting its development strategy.  With Pixar, Disney, Star Wars, and Marvel in the game, the 2016 focus is on adding more Play Sets and characters to the 3.0 Edition instead of introducing 4.0 edition. This gives players a chance to get more value out of their starter packs.
  • The 2016 slate will include four new Play Sets, one each from Disney, Pixar, Marvel and Star Wars.
  • They will also be highlighting characters that are part of big Disney events. The first example of this is the announced Baloo figure from The Jungle Book to support Jon Favreau's upcoming retelling.
  • The previously announced Marvel Battlegounds set will be released March 15. The new playable characters for the Play Set are Black Panther, Ant-Man and Vision. Black Suit Spider-Man, who was a digital Playstation Vita exclusive, will also be released as its own standalone figure. Additional characters will be coming. They also premiered the play set's new trailer

Don't forget Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde from Zootopia are available today.
