Just when you thought the days of Innoventions were over, it was announced that Disney is working with Murata for a new experience inside the exhibit.

A new show called The SpectacuLAB will be coming to Innoventions in Epcot this fall. The new production will feature demonstrations that bring to life the wonders of science and innovation. The interactive experiments will allow guests to discover how science and Murata technologies come together to create products such as consumer devices, healthcare equipment, and automotive electronics.

To develop this show, Murata teamed with Walt Disney Parks Creative Entertainment and Science from Scientists, a national, non-profit which promotes the importance of STEM education with a mission to empower youth in science, technology, engineering, and mathematical fields.

The audience participation in the demonstrations with the on-hand scientists include:

  • Guests playing ultrasonic sensor drums, simply with the wave of their hand
  • Changing the colors of barometric pressure cubes by only raising or lowering the cube
  • Accelerometer sensors measuring the guest's force when using a hammer
  • Observing a scientist explain the principle of force by comfortably resting on a bed of nails.

Murata designs, manufactures and sells ceramic-based passive electronic components, communication modules and power supply modules.
