Last month, Disney announced that it was developing a new version of the cult classic Hocus Pocus it plans to air on Disney Channel. Of course, this wasn't exactly what fans were looking for from the franchise as many had hoped for an actual sequel to the film that would reunite the original Sanderson Sisters. Now, speaking to People, star Bette Midler has added her voices to those criticising the reboot.

Midler told the magazine, "I know it’s cheap. It’s going to be cheap!" She went on to say she was concerned about who would take over her role as Winifred Sanderson, noting, "My character is very, very broad and I don’t know who they’re going to find to play that." Finally, when asked if Midler might make an appearance in the DCOM, her answer was simple: "No, no, no!"

The new Hocus Pocus project is being written by Scarlett Lacey (The Royals) and will once again be executive produced by David Kirschner. It's unclear if Disney has other plans for expanding the franchise beyond the remake.
