    That's why we gave 20%. Over here you give 10%, but the employees have their fix income and usually the tip goes into a bowl and at the end of the day, it is split between the waiters. At least that's how it worked in the restaurant my sister worked.

    I always leave a 20% tip, unless the service is really bad. That is one of the reasons that I really hate it when restaurants automatically add gratuities for large parties. There was one time that I actually got the manager involved because our waitress was horrible and rude and there was no way I was leaving her an 18% tip.

But, the race to be sustainable (ie cheaper) in order to make a profit means that the papers are somewhat relying on bloggers who have no real sense of professionalism, ethics, etc. Sources aren't verified, facts not double checked, etc.

    It is a shame...but it makes me glad that I did not pursue a journalism degree. I would have grown tired of it by now and started over.

    Very true. There are also so many "this is what "some" are saying" stories that get picked up and spread around. There truly was a time when that sort of stuff wasn't okay among professional journalists.
