There was a time when I tried to use this as a justification to going to the Halloween party. But given how it cost us $252 to go, and how much of the candy I've already personally eaten, I can't really use that excuse anymore, lol.

Well that happens with a super-low capacity 'attraction.' At best, a M&G will get ~400 guests per hour (~100 groups of 4 people each), but that's pushing it. When the locals come to the Halloween parties to focus on the M&Gs, that will artificially inflate your wait time; even if a small percentage of the total party attendees visit any specific M&G, the total wait time will be borderline ridiculous considering the total length of the party. There's really very little Disney can do to increase the capacity without compromising show integrity (with the rare exception of locations like Stormtroopers, where there's no danger in having multiple visible locations), so it's always curious to me that Disney puts so much emphasis on them

I'll never understand how/why/when they staff meet n' greets at Disneyland. They have all of these amazing characters in their canon now; Stormtroopers, Chewbacca, Darth Vader, Jack Skellington, various Marvel properties, and yet they either make it hard to find them (Innoventions) or only trot them out a handful of days during special parties (everyone else).

They could do a whole Star Wars meet n' greet theme pavilion in Tomorrowland with Darth and Stormtroopers and Chewie and Leia and Hans and many others and have kids and adults salivating at getting that photo.

But they don't. Cause, you know, it's too hard to give paying customers what they want.

    Idiots.

It would be tough to coordinate a M&G with the show schedule though, since they're so frequent

Although I've never waited in it, the photo op during runDisney races with Darth Vader and 2 Stormtroopers at DL always has the longest queue of any of the races I've run. I don't get it, but they sure are popular. I'm excited, curious, and somewhat scared of the lines to see who they bring out for the Star Wars Half Marathon at DL in January. There's usually a decent cast at Star Wars Weekends in WDW, so I'm hoping to see some rare-ish characters (and I would love to get another photo with an Ewok; my first one didn't turn out so well)

Kind of curious. Why? Every year I toy with the idea of going, but there never seems to be enough to get me there. Has the party slowly been getting better?

We get so caught up in the costumes .....that we forget about the fireworks, the parade and the other Halloween special happenings.
Also, even though our party said sold out....it was easy to get around that nite

I watched it this year at WDW from the Top of the World Lounge, and it was spectacular.
