Yes. ... And it's going to take another 2-3 years before all the things I mentioned get done.

WDW's rooms really need major rehabs every 4-5 years, even though they often go twice that with maybe some industrial strength out-of-themed carpeting thrown down in the middle.

How are those 1999 rooms at the All Star Movies looking?

Or those 1996 rooms (albeit with that carpet replaced and some painting in between) at the Boardwalk Inn?

All Star Movies - not impressed. Pop Century - still looks great.

I slept in a car for almost an entire week once when I was working long hours.

Believe me -- I never want to do it again. I can't believe you'd really prefer to do that.

Plus, taking a daily shower is important. PU

To quote my favorite line from Plan 9 From Outer Space, the Classic Edward G. Wood Jr. movie..."you Humans are all stupid, stupid, stupid".
Actually if that's all you can afford or you are more frugal with your money the Values are a unique bargain for WDW. Especially if you don't pay rack rate, and there are no large heard of teenage groups staying there.

In so many ways ... although I think you had something specific in mind -- lodging :)

And I do prefer the high end of the spectrum.

Like the Dolphin for $45 a night in 12/01!

Nowadays, you can regularly come away with DD Hotel Plaza properties with it.

So, again, there are plenty of ways to have an inexpensive, quality WDW vacation without spending a lot. Most people just aren't savvy travelers.

I keep advising folks on the DL Trip Planning Board about the amazing PL deals in Anaheim and still some folks would rather pay 2-3 times more for a fleabag across Harbor than to stay at the Marriott, Hyatt or Crowne Plaza. I don't understand it.

OT - The captain of the ship in that movie? My cousin, Greg Walcott. He's been in a bunch of stuff, but being in the worst movie ever is his big claim to fame!

At least you didn't say 5 minutes...

As far as Anaheim - not all the rooms on PL look like they'd be great, and I've had a few real duds with Priceline over the past couple of years. So I'm more hesitant to use it now. I liked the Candy Cane Inn, though I might need to try PL for March.

He's got quite the filmography on IMDB. He's been in a bunch of westerns like Wagon Train & Bonanza. He was the aircraft carrier captain in the movie Midway. And he got beat up by Clint Eastwood in the first couple of the Every Which Way series. He's really had an amazing career for someone that no one's ever heard of (sorta like me!).
