And Roz has interacted with us directly on every trip through... She's a hoot!

I am sorry though, because I found it to be a boring rehash of selected film scenes. I know I'm crazy, but I much, much prefer superstar limo, warts and all, as it actually was evocative of the hollywood theme/idea. Wierdly, oddly, yes... but it was.

I would rather have a strange, messsed up hollywood ride in the hollywood section of a park than a cloying, uninspired ride with a few rando , unmoving giant plush dolls thrown in.

Wow, I think this is my first really negative post in years. If I sound like a jerk, I'm sorry. I'm not trying to be. I believe what I wrote though. I would rather have superstar limo, and I have 2 young daughters.

I loved the movie, and I don't like the ride, at all. So I don't think I'm prejudiced by the subject matter, and my favorite thing in dca is the redwood creek challenge trail, so I don't think my expectations are too high, and I love toad, pinochio, alice, peter pan, roger rabbit... so I'm not against dark rides, I don't know.

I even like the muppet movie. Monsters inc... no. Half the money spent on the changeout put to fixing limo could have created something fun and lasting, but they didn't try.

    Still like dca though.

I didn't hate it the way so many do, but I really do find it hard to imagine that it's better than the Monsters Inc. ride.

    Ah, well, vive la difference.

I mean it's not like little kids even give know or give two hoots about Drew Carey, Melanie Griffith or Antonio Banderas - for starters. They were BLAH choices before the attraction even opened.

Why is it that all of a sudden DLR rides must have characters in them that are recognizable to little kids? It didn't used to be this way.

SSL was a campy tougue-in-cheek experience, and the celebrities chosen were the typical folks one might see while thumbing through a gossip magazine circa 2001. I enjoyed it a little bit more than Monsters.

Kids may or may not recognize the 'classic' actors either, but at least they'd be more enjoyable for the adults. Otherwise, make them completely generic characters with 'superstar' attitudes only.

Melanie Griffith and Antonio Banderas NEVER belonged in there... Drew Carey would have been 'blech' by now; Whoopi's okay, I suppose - nothing exciting; Tim Allen was barely recognizable from what I saw in the video of the ride. Regis Philbin was likely only included because of the "Millionaire" thing that's no longer in existence... He's another one that would only elicit shrugs now with the exception of homemakers who watch his morning show.

Just a bunch of 'so-so' celebs. Could have been done much better, imho.

I wonder how many more riders Monsters gets than SSL did.

The problem with celebrities, Hans, is that they're too unpredictable - heck, popularity/sanity status changes practically day-to-day and most of them aren't worth wasting tabloid money on, let alone big bucks for semi-AA figures.

Kind of what I figured, Alice. Monsters is probably more popular. Plus, DCA's attendance is a bit stronger now than it was when SSL was open.
