One style is stationary on the frame, the other style slides back and forth as the wheel rotates (in addition to swinging) I would have your child watch for awhile first. I dont think there is a height limit. My neice got to perform with her dance troop at both parks. They had a blast and were thrilled to go backstage. It sure was expensive though, good for you mom! Have fun and good luck to your daughter!

I had a really bad scare as a kid on a Ferris Wheel so they aren't my favorite ride. Didn't enjoy the Sun Wheel at all. I'm not afraid of heights, but I don't like being at the top of the Sun Wheel. If you have a child who IS afraid of heights, don't take them on the ride. It takes awhile to load/unload passengers and once they are up there...they are stuck. Use your best judgment based on your child's personality to see if you think they will really like it. I do believe there is a height requirement.

Did she get a workshop with the choreographers too? We're a little nervous about this because we don't get to do a rehearsal once we get there, we just have the one performance...hopefully all goes well

Bring lots of film. I just remember brother in law griped about the package cost but Disney does charge alot to use their stages and I think its worth every penny.

It gives great information about rides (an age level rating system, a very good description, etc.). It also gives a very detailed discussion about queues and crowd management and some great suggestions about how to tour the park to make the most of your time. Anyway, the best guide book I have seen. That being said, I know people who go to Disneyland, never get on a ride and enjoy themselves very much. It has great entertainment and a fun atmosphere. Depending upon the age of your kids, my favorites are Pirate of the Carribean and the Haunted House. Disney's best. Fantasmic is also a great, innovative show. Finally, my 7 year old boy loves pin trading. We purchased a lanyard and a few Disney pins and he is allowed to trade them with various cast memebers who also where lanyards. I think he enjoys it as much as the rides. I am envious of someone seeing Disney for the first time. Have a great trip.

Its been really cool with darkbeer's photo links because I've been able to show my girls what we're going to see when we get there the first time my older girl saw Sleeping Beauty's castle she was so excited she actually almost started crying! hehe..she just looked at me and said that's soooo beautiful! she then asked if we can just go right now! (thanks darkbeer for posting all the pics!) after showing my younger girl the pics, she now thinks we are leaving tomorrow (hehe..not 17 days from now)
